Many of the botanicals in this blend have been valued for generations as natural insect deterrents.
Citronella, lemongrass, eucalyptus, cedarwood, and peppermint are rich in fragrant plant compounds that help disrupt the scents mosquitoes and other biting insects use to locate us.
Rather than masking the outdoors with heavy synthetic fragrances, BuzzGuard works with the natural chemistry of plants to offer gentle, botanical protection.

A Note from the Herbalist
Living close to the land has taught me that spending time outdoors also means sharing space with all creatures that call it home.
I never wanted a bug spray that smelled harsh or left me feeling like I had to choose between protecting myself and enjoying nature.
I keep this bottle right on my front porch at all times, and it still serves as my holy grail
The Science Behind BuzzGuard
- Citronella has long been one of the most trusted plants for naturally helping repel mosquitoes. Modern research suggests its aromatic oils help make it harder for mosquitoes to pick up on the scents they use to find us.
- Lemongrass contains citronellal and geraniol, which are also recognized for their repellent properties.
- Cedarwood is traditionally used to discourage insects and has shown repellent activity against certain insects in studies.
- Peppermint and Eucalyptus round out the blend with fresh, aromatic oils that many biting insects naturally avoid.
